At work: With a focus of meeting the Army’s mission requirements and supporting soldier readiness, I lead and provide oversight to a federal contracting division that procures complex services and essential supplies.

Home and family: I am married to my handsome husband, Jobarie, and am a mother to our adorable son.

Volunteer activities: I find enjoyment reaching back into the community by offering free consultation, resume and interview preparation services. I also am a member of the Lambda Gamma Omega Virginia Beach chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Virginia Beach Pearls Foundation, and Emmanuel True Holiness Church. I also enjoy helping the community to increase health and financial awareness, and participating in food drives.

Motivating factor: The capability to conquer accomplishments motivates me to take on new challenges and believe that NOTHING is impossible.

Advice for young people: Don’t be afraid to network for mentorship and new opportunities.

Professional goal in five years: I would like to a director of a federal contracting command while positively impacting the lives of others.

The one thing I’d change about Hampton Roads: I would like to see the cities of Hampton Roads work together to increase expand The Tide light rail, and to host an NFL or NBA team.

Region’s biggest asset: Diversity of our population and the immense amount of talented professionals in our area.

Downtime: I enjoy relaxing with my family and making new memories filled with laughter.

What really gets under my skin: Considering the magnitude of what we are facing with this COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve learned to take one day at time and don’t sweat the small things.
